Sunday starts out at a relaxing pace. I have a lie in and then put on a simple breakfast spread for my guests – fruit salad, smoked salmon, avocado, toast and yoghurt. Lots of teas and coffees to follow.

I have a table booked for lunch at a pub. We do a nice walk which leads to the pub and it is pleasant out. A slight breeze is in the air and the sun is shining.

We get a table outdoors and settle down with some drinks. A round of Aperol Spritz for the grown ups and ginger beer for the Bear.

Our food arrives at 3pm – some roasts around the table and I ordered fish and chips. The food is good and we are all hungry. For dessert, we order sticky toffee pudding and a chocolate pot.

We decide to head back home for tea/coffee and soak up the sun in the garden.

Our guests didn’t want dinner but I whip up a nasi goreng as it is light enough. The bear and man were hungry.

We watch some tennis and chill in the living room. I call it a night at 10pm.

It’s finally the weekend. We have family over later so it is full on tidy up mode!!

First up though, a trip to the beautician followed by the hairdresser.

I meet up with the man and bear for lunch. After which operation tidy up began.

The Bear and I go to mass and then we get home to cook and wait for our guests.

Dinner is a hit and we have a great night catching up. Bed past midnight!

2/6/23

Happy Friday! I drop the Bear off to camp and make my way to my home office. It’s a slow start but picks up pace soon enough.

I have a call with el jefe and have a few things to do for him (I end up finishing work at 8.30pm).

I have a call so the man collects the Bear from camp. Dinner is leftover dhall curry which is a hit.

I squeeze in a Lucy workout quite late and then watch two episodes of Inside Man which is fab. Stanley Tucci’s fan here! Bed is very late!!

Happy 1st of June. I feel a big weight lifted off my shoulders with two workstreams completed yesterday, after 5 whole months.

I WFH due to half term. The Bear goes to an activity club. She seems to be having a good week but would rather be travelling somewhere! I promise to take Monday off so that we can spend the day together.

I attempt to make a dhall +paneer+veg curry but it’s a stop/start due to endless calls.

I have been coming across vlogs and articles on Everest lately and find a movie called Everest to watch on prime. I make a note for tonight.

I remember not wanting to watch the movie when it was first released as someone I knew does in an avalanche during a ski trip and it was too traumatising. I still miss them but when I watched the movie, I was able to focus on the storyline (based on true events) without dwelling on their loss almost eight years on.

My dhall curry is a hit and there are leftovers for the next day. It’s a windy day and despite the sunshine later in the day, I am still cold. A text from a friend confirms that I’m not the only one.

I squeeze in a Lucy workout and call it a night after 11pm.

It’s the last day of May. The month went by in a blink and kept me flat out on the work front.

I work from home today. The Bear goes to day camp. I knuckle down and get a few calls done. There are lots of last minute questions from auditors and it feels never ending.

Lunch is fried rice, a late one. I dash to collect the bear and we catch up on her day. Once home she chills whilst I get back to work.

We head into the village in the evening for a look around the local fair. Lots of rides and stalls. The Bear tries the bungee jump for 5 minutes. I am starving. Dinner is sandwiches from the supermarket. We walk around some more and the Bear is happy to call it a night.
