Happy St Patrick’s Day

Happy St Patrick’s Day! We are all dressed in green jumpers to mark the day. The man suggests that we have some Malaysian food at Sudu (a belated Mothers Day lunch) to begin the festivities.

We take a break from lent today and I order my favourite drink, air Bandung!

We order a Nasi Campur, Char Kuey Teow and Beef Rendang. The food is tasty albeit very spicy.

After lunch we go for a walk around Queens Park. The man suggests a stop at Portobello Market and we drive over.

Whilst he looks at vinyl records, we enjoy some treats at Oporto Cafe.

The weather is decent and we buy some cinnamon buns from Buns from Home. Lots of sweet treats today.

Finally to round off the day, we head to our local pub for some Guiness (and a fizzy drink for the bear).

8/10/23

We are up early. I book an Ocado delivery for tonight.

We have a lovely breakfast at gramp’s and then it is time to go. We stop at Avoca en route and the Bear buys some hair clips with money from gramps.

We drop off our hire car and make our way to departures. The airport is seriously busy and luckily our flight is on time.

We land in Heathrow just before 3pm and get home within the hour.

The man and I sort out some house sale admin and the bear watches strictly (Saturday’s show). We check in on our rental, stop for a drink at a pub and have dinner out.

We get home in time for Ocado, I put a wash on and work on Duolingo to avoid demotion.

It’s a late night and we are all wrecked!

4/8/23

Happy Friday. I drop the Bear off to camp. Some badly behaved parents about, parking on zig zags near the echo’s zebra crossing. There is ample parking 3 minutes walk away but they appear lazy and self centred. Our headmaster regularly sends out reminders about such dangerous parkings so I’m guessing these parents don’t have kids in our school!!

My day is a busy one. We are back doing transactions again so there is a lot to complete in terms of documentation and people to speak to.

Lunch is leftovers.

I collect the Bear and carry on working until 5.30. I make us prawn pasta which is her favourite and we both enjoy it.

The man comes home with our house guest for the weekend. I catch up and then do some work. It’s 11pm by the time I sleep.

3/8/23

I’m very tired today after my work trip yesterday. There is a lot to get through my intray. The Bear stays home from camp as she is tired too. She has a lie in and I do what I do every day – work, work and work.

For lunch we order in food. I keep drinking tea over the course of the day.

For dinner, I roasted a medley of vegetables Mediterranean style and some fish. It goes down well.

I’m in bed by 10pm.

18/2/23

To say I woke up tired would be an understatement. I didn’t sleep until past 2am and was awake around 7am. My head and eyes hurt. This is no way to start a weekend.

I coaxed the Bear into willing into the village. We have a lovely friend V whom we hadn’t seen in a while and we decided to drop off some flowers to her. Unfortunately V was on her way out but she kindly pulled over and was surprised to receive the flowers. We also bought her a box of chocolates which we know she loves. After waving goodbye we checked out some secondhand shops for books. I bought Enid Blyton’s The Enchanted Wood for 50p! I read the book as a 10 year old and loved it very much so this is one for my collection.

We bought sandwiches for lunch and flowers for the breakfast room and made our way home.

I had promised the Bear a trip to the dessert lounge after cancelling twice. The man joined us and we had a lovely treat. The Bear enjoyed herself and I felt redeemed for letting her down twice over this visit!

I caught a few episodes of Manifest. It just gets more bizarre!
